Trumpet mouthpieces

Learn more about the Parametrix concept

The Parametrix conceptual mouthpiece based on carefully developed shell geometries. A „shell type“ represents the specific geometry that consistently maintains proportionality within variations of nominal diameter and shell depth. This ensures that the sonic characteristics remain consistent within a „shell type“. The variants of a shell type are used to adapt to the individual physiognomy of musicians.

Our boiler types are structured by volume sizes. For the mouthpieces for Trumpet and Flugelhorn you'll find the larger boiler volumes in „boiler type P“ and the slightly smaller boiler volumes in „boiler type B“. For the mouthpieces for Trombones (Baritone and Bass Trumpet) Type P boilers have the largest boiler volumes, Type K boilers have slightly smaller ones, Type G boilers have medium-sized ones, and Type B boilers have small boiler volumes.

To compare the volume sizes, there is a list in the view of a selected model, which also includes the boiler volume information. Given the diversity of our range, it can be helpful to orient yourself comparatively using parameters you are accustomed to – for example, starting from the usual nominal diameter.

If we can be of assistance with pre-selecting for the testing of our mouthpieces, we look forward to enquiries regarding this.
