The A Mute alphorn mute offers:

The modern design with a practical handle allows the mute to be easily inserted into the bell of the alphorn with one hand. The interchangeable rubber rings hold securely without glue, allowing you to flexibly adapt the mute to different instrument sizes.
It is ideal for practicing at home, in the garden, on the terrace, or in other sensitive environments. Practice quietly – without compromising on sound quality!
We developed and tested this mute in collaboration with SUISSE WOOD.

I am very happy with the A-Mute practice mute - it reduces the volume excellently and still allows me to practise sensibly. The notes may respond a little more slowly, but I find this insignificant. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages! Fun fact: the A-Mute can also be used as a "bongo".
